{"id":847,"date":"2026-03-14T23:31:48","date_gmt":"2026-03-14T23:31:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pixert.com\/blog\/?p=847"},"modified":"2026-03-14T23:31:51","modified_gmt":"2026-03-14T23:31:51","slug":"how-to-fix-location-not-found-icloud-find-my","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pixert.com\/blog\/how-to-fix-location-not-found-icloud-find-my\/","title":{"rendered":"How to fix Location Not Found iCloud Find My"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>I checked Find My in iCloud and discovered that it couldn&#8217;t pinpoint the location of my Mac Mini (it&#8217;s a Mac desktop, of course) even though Location Services was enabled. I Googled for information on how to fix this and found the solution in an unexpected place. <em>Before I share the solution, I want to point out<\/em> that <em>Find My in iCloud is enabled but Wake for Network Access is disabled<\/em>. Additionally, it&#8217;s been quite some time since I checked Apple Find My, let alone iCloud Find My, so i<em>t&#8217;s been over 7 days since its last location was sent to Apple<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I found an <a href=\"https:\/\/support.apple.com\/en-gb\/guide\/findmy-mac\/fmmc6c7ef383\/mac\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Apple Support page about locating a device in Find My on Mac<\/a>.<br>When I checked <strong>iCloud Find My, the Mac Mini only showed &#8220;No location found&#8221;<\/strong> meaning the device can&#8217;t be located. This was very confusing, as there&#8217;s usually information about the Mac Mini&#8217;s location. Even when I tried playing a sound, it still said &#8220;No location found.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It turned out <a href=\"https:\/\/support.apple.com\/en-gb\/guide\/findmy-mac\/fmmc6c7ef383\/mac\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">the solution was to get directions to a device on the Apple Support page<\/a>. So I followed the instructions,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Go to the Find My app\u00a0<img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/help.apple.com\/assets\/68CC803D1F4F9D59790DB80C\/68CC803E87E1E00B470ADF80\/en_GB\/5950824507e491d57be65034bf29a0ab.png?ssl=1\" alt=\"\">\u00a0on your Mac.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click Devices, select the device you want to get directions to, then click\u00a0<img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/help.apple.com\/assets\/68CC803D1F4F9D59790DB80C\/68CC803E87E1E00B470ADF80\/en_GB\/974db3c051f6ac0adaddf1e2fec1001e.png?ssl=1\" alt=\"the Info button\">\u00a0on the map.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click Directions. The Maps app\u00a0<img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/help.apple.com\/assets\/68CC803D1F4F9D59790DB80C\/68CC803E87E1E00B470ADF80\/en_GB\/4b6688e61702fb24a58390662791ed71.png?ssl=1\" alt=\"\">\u00a0opens with the directions from your location to the device\u2019s current location.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Suddenly, iCloud Find My updated the Mac Mini&#8217;s location. That was it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Note: This only works if you still have access to your Mac Mini.
