I’ll discuss how to replace the filter. I had a problem replacing it. Initially, the Xiaomi Smart Air Purifier 4 Compact notified me via the control panel on the top of the device when it was time to replace the filter (!). I didn’t have a replacement filter, so I turned the air purifier off until I got one. A few weeks later, I got one, and I replaced it without turning the air purifier on before replacing the filter. According to the manual, I only need to press the Power button while in standby mode for 7 seconds to reset the filter after replacing it. However, this didn’t reset the filter—it just turned the air purifier on, so I was confused as to why it wouldn’t reset the filter.
I searched Google and even YouTube, but I couldn’t find any information on how to fix this problem, which is why I’m writing about it here.
The solution turned out to be…
I reinstalled the old filter and turned on the air purifier. After a while, I turned the air purifier off and replaced it with the new filter. I pressed the Power button while in standby mode for 7 seconds, and the LED indicator flashed for 1 second, indicating the filter reset was complete. After that, I turned the air purifier on as usual, and the filter exhausting indicator no longer appeared on the control panel.
So, when the air purifier hasn’t been used and turned off for a while, don’t replace the filter right away; turn it on first before replacing the filter.
