My client had asked me to test site in IE6 before found out that WP Register caused  a problem in IE6. When I clicked  wp-login.php?action=register , IE6 was  popping up window

Program C:\PROGRAM FILES\INTERNET EXPLORER\IEXPLORE.EXE

pure virtual function call

IE6 had to shut down

How to fix it? change wp-login.php?action=register in theme or in plugin to wp-register.php. No pop up window after that
