Instinct asked me to update a famous WordPress theme, Crafty Cart. They needed Crafty Cart to be compatible with the latest version of WordPress and WP E-Commerce, added new DropShop look and fixed other bugs on the theme.
It was a fun project and I learned so much about WP E-Commerce, in case you don’t know, WP E-Commerce made by Instinct. I’ve been using WP E-Commerce for clients. . I recommend you to use WP E-Commerce plugin for e-commerce with WordPress.
When I started the project, Crafty Cart was already looking great. It looked like a quick and easy project.
I installed the theme on Fresh WordPress 2.8.2 installation with WP E-commerce 2.7.2. I had found a few bugs on WP E-Commerce that day before reported it back to Dan Milward. I was taking note of features need to be updated while ran through all features in Crafy Cart.
I ran theme on three browsers, Safari 3, Firefox 3 and IE7. I wanted to make sure the theme was working on 3 premium browsers. I found a bug on headers, it was showing odd alphabets on Safari. Other bugs mostly minors.
New Drop Shop look was a challenge. I tried to change Drop Shop position from default (horizontal on footer) to vertical position on right side. Why did I do that? It was because the default position blocked footer. At the end of project, we liked the default position . I also changed backgrounds for light and dark Drop Shop, created two new stylesheet for them. These new styles are now with Craft Cart final produc.
I made a neat effect where there was a link under Shopping Cart to show and hide drop shop allow people to see footer. This feature isn’t available for final product (feel free to contact me for Crafty Cart mods).
Drop shop is a shopping cart with neat effect on WP E-Commerce. It makes possible for your shoppers to drag and drop goods/products onto it. When I was delivering the Crafty Cart, it had 3 choices of Drop Shop positions, default, vertical (under sidebar), on fly. Only one make it to final product, that’s default
My another task was to update Product Slider to be compatible with Crafty Craft. Drop Shop and Product Slider are add-on modules for WP E-Commerce. You can buy it at Instinct Gold Cart Shop
We did update Crafty Cart comments to be compatible with WordPress 2.8 or above. Old Crafty Cart used Prior WordPress 2.8 comments functions

I don’t have a plan to update Crafty Cart. I think Crafty Cart 2.0 is a stable release. I don’t get any report about it
